What am I doing when my community woodshop is closed?

My community woodshop has been closed since March 14. Needless to say I have not done any turning since then. I’ve been busy with home organization and modest renovations. My friend, Mary Anne has helped me cut some thin cement board and I am now ready to return to my glass roots.
As many of you know I have been dabbling in water color and sketching. Working on those skills has helped me develop new techniques for conceptualizing my glass ideas. Soooooo here is a design concept for a 40” x 22” mosaic

  1. Hi Marilyn: Happy Easter! Good to hear from you. It is strange times isn’t it, 4 weeks into isolation?I’m glad to hear you’re doing well, and resourceful as always, being creative. I honestly can’t say I’m suffering at all through this time staying at home. The way I’m hearing that some people are finding it so terribly lonely and difficult, I’m just not feeling that…I seem to be keeping pretty occupied. I do almost forget what the inside of a restaurant looks like though, and really am sad that the Carp Market is uncertain, the Jazz Festival is cancelled, and even Canada Day isn’t a sure thing. My biggest challenge is not eating something every time I walk through the kitchen!

I haven’t even been to a store in 3 weeks. Shannon & John are getting stuff for me when they shop and droppping it off on the porch, having a short visit outside, at a minimum 6 feet away of course. I actually appreciate being able to avoid the stores.

With the snow finally gone, it’s so nice to get outside and start puttering around. This weekend, it’ll be a pretty quiet Easter for all of us, but at least I think I’ll get the furniture out of the shed onto the front porch. Still too cold to sit out there, but I’ll be ready!

Stay well my friend, and take good care. Hugs, Deb.
